Sandy is the potter and designer behind Maati Ka, a brand with a meaningful story to tell. However, she was hesitant to speak in front of the camera. So, we decided to create a short documentary film to capture her story in a more emotional, authentic way.
There’s always a way to create content for your brand, even if you're not comfortable with the usual methods. I've seen creators film just their hands at work, narrating their process through voiceovers. The key takeaway here is that you should find a method that works for you and use it to tell your story. Don’t let fear or challenges stop you from sharing what your brand is all about.
Knowing that Sandy felt shy speaking to the camera, I had a conversation with her off-camera and recorded her audio. I filmed her working on her art and matched the audio to the footage, giving the audience a deeper understanding of the person behind the brand while also showcasing the creation process.
Our goal was to help Sandy connect with her audience on a personal level, despite the obstacles we faced. There’s always a way.
What makes this video especially meaningful to me is Sandy’s courage to openly share her medical condition, which causes her hands to tremble. She even wanted to show that part of her story, and to me, that took real vulnerability. It sends a powerful message: anything is possible if you believe in it.
Sharing the struggles and stories behind your brand isn’t just about the product—it’s about showing your authenticity and selflessness.
